BUILDING

FOR GENERATIONS.

For over 20 years, the JRC has been a home away from home for Jewish students at the University of Michigan, continuously striving to touch their lives with the most meaningful Jewish experiences possible. Thousands of Jewish students have flocked through our doors, embracing the opportunity to discover and connect with their Jewish roots.

At this time, we feel proud, humbled, and fortunate to have outgrown our current building. For the past few years, we have consistently- and with much pleasure- greeted 150 plus students at our weekly Shabbat meals! With more and more students reaching out to learn about Judaism and become part of the JRC family, we have realized the pressing need for more space.

We therefore reach out to you, our dear friends and supporters, to help us in our mission to expand and renovate our current iconic building. Doing this will enable us to continue our work and expand our outreach to our fellow Jewish brothers and sisters.

Our Students

TELL OUR STORY.

The JRC fills a crucial role for students on campus, not only as the source for a wealth of Jewish education and knowledge of Israel, but also as a lifeline for students that need guidance in any facet of their lives including their social well-being and mental health. At the JRC, every Jewish student feels like he or she belongs because we are all part of a family that shares the same beautiful heritage. Our JRC is a home away from home and an oasis of warmth and support where students can hang out, learn about Judaism, and grow in every aspect of their lives.

“Some of my happiest college memories are the ones at JRC Shabbos dinners which my friends and I would look forward to all week long.”

RACHEL BECKMAN

“I was fortunate to have learned with the JRC Rabbis who taught me about Judaism and shared new and enlightening perspectives on life. My greatest hope for college students is that they remain open to discovering more about Judaism regardless of how they were raised prior to college…they have everything to gain and nothing to lose!”

JESSE KRUMHOLZ

“Being on such a large campus can be overwhelming, but the JRC kept me grounded, true to my Jewish values and connected with people who shared them. It’s such a comforting feeling to know that you are part of a family that you can always count on and until today, some of my closest friends are fellow Jewish students that I met through the JRC.”
